"My first encounter with Peter Dog took place by way of a catalogue. Catalogue production, especially in the realm of contemporary art, is extensive. There is no clear boundary between documenting an oeuvre and advertising it. As a result, faced with the new piles of catalogues that arrive daily with the mail, we develop an immunity to keep from getting lost under the sometimes rather opulent cascades of information. But sometimes, when lethargy begins to set in while leafing through a catalogue, we take pause in the face of visual worlds never seen in quite this way: visual worlds with an enduring appeal." extract from Hans-Werner Schmidt text
