"The title of the book is taken from the 1974 typographic picture «Sand in der Vaseline» by Ed Ruscha. On the left-hand pages of the illustration section, there are 15 identical reproductions of a black and white photograph taken by Kippenberger's father. On the right-hand pages Martin Kippenberger has pasted-in colored illustrations of collages he created using postcards and photographs collected and taken during his visit to Brazil in 1986..."
