BARTOLINI Luciano (Fiesole 1948 - 1994), Traces, Firenze, Zona, [1976], 16,5x22,5 cm, softcover, pp. [16], artist’s book with title and typographical data on the cover, without text and illustrations, consisting of 4 sheets (23x36 cm each ) of “craft paper” (obtained by recycling garbage” sheet) different from each other in quality, color and weight, folded in two parts (8 sheets) and stapled with metal staples (16 pages overall) and on which eight “traces” of vinavil glue are applied. Edition of 250 copies, numbered and signed in pencil by the artist on the back cover, copy no. 72, copy with handwritten dedication to a well-known Roman art critic. Attached is a typewritten folded leaflet with an explanatory text by the artist on headed paper by “Zona” editions of Florence.

"La carta, di produzione artigianale, è ottenuta riciclando spazzatura, ne è interdetto l'uso per l'imballaggio di sostanze alimentari, superficie molto irregolae in cui sono riconoscibili gli elementi non omogenei che la costituiscono, per colore, spessore, consistenza, trasparenza, opacità. L'intervento manuale si riduce all'esecuzione di una serie di tracce organizzate, sopra le tracce casuali della superficie al fine di concentrare l'attenzione sul rapporto tra pagina/campo e traccia/segno. Le otto tracce sono fatte con vinavil una su ciascuno degli otto fogli interni, mentre la copertina e controcopertina sono adibite ad altre indicazioni (titolo, numerazione, autore, edizione). Le prime quattro tracce sono indicazioni direzionali (basso, alto, sinistra, destra) le altre quattro sono definizioni dei lati del campo (inferiore, superiore, sinistro, destro). Realizzazione artigianale, rilegato dall'autore (con la collaborazione di sua madre) con macchina da cucire singer 31m15." (Luciano Bartolini)
