László Lakner / Four Hungarian superstitions Reconstructed by László Lakner

€3,000.00

LAKNER László (Budapest 1936).

Budapest, self published, 1972, early and rare work by Hungarian artist László Lakner, offering a personal interpretation of four traditional Hungarian superstitions. The piece consists of an introductory typewritten sheet (29.8 × 21.1 cm), dated 1972, followed by four distinct sets of black-and-white photographs (each 23.9 × 17.3 cm). Each sequence is preceded by a typewritten text sheet of identical size, outlining the superstition it depicts. The photographs, taken by György Gadányi between 1970 and 1972, are each numbered and stamped by the photographer on the verso, providing a documentary and poetic counterpart to Lakner’s concept. Two of the four text sheets bear Lakner’s signature in pencil.
