The slaked lime, of which the chemical formula is reproduced on the cover, is a type of lime produced in Italy, which, in 1978, Beuys had transported from Pescara to Düsseldorf to whitewash his house. The operation is defined as a sculpture made of traces, generated by the different phases of the journey and documented by the photographs of Buby Durini.
